The 'Biddy Band' now has a name: Lincoln Crockett & Enemies. We're building a LOT of bridges between musical styles - blues, bluegrass, deep grooves & fusion - and having a really exceptional experience doing it. If its half as much fun for you as it is for us you'll have a great time! We're only in the Portland area right now but we think out of towners will agree that its worth the trip. EVERY FIRST FRIDAY with one exception: we'll be off on July 4th to celebrate but returning JULY 22nd.

A review of the String Sampler in Monday's Oregonian said "Cross-eyed Rosie just about stole the night with their cover of David Bowie's "Fame." Can't help but think Bowie would approve." It's good to finally feel cool.

Saturday's Exorcism was marked with friends and fans bringing lots of their friends and packing the winery hall so tight I had folks sitting packed in campfire-style. All we needed was the fire! It was a real treat to hear people singing the lyrics along with the words.

Was it the high ceilings in my antique hotel room in Port Townsend, the peanuts on the floor of the Green Frog in Bellingham, the spontaneous 'Deadwood Mandolin' set-long jam with Deadwood Revival in Seattle or the homeless jazz-man who showed up at the Mandolin Cafe in Tacoma and stayed to find some grooves with me after my set? Or just that the whole endeavor was successful enough to make this seem like a bankable way of life for the future!?

It was all of it and more - especially everyone who made it out to the shows. I was helped by some good press in Port Townsend and Bellingham, but every night people got excited, friends came out of the woodwork, and I came away with a lot of new fans. This is the most rewarding work I've ever done and I can't wait to get back out again! Step by step we're getting there.

Look for more upcoming tour dates in Oregon and Washington every month from now on!

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported last Friday's live recording at Mississippi Studios. We've got the files in hand and will beging chewing on them soon. For now we are thrilled at the show: the energy that night was off the charts! You came with high expectations and from everything I've heard, even old friends and fans were blown away. I've played music to a lot of excited audiences, but never actually heard repeated gasps - repeated gasps - in song after song when the good parts hit. Thanks for coming along with Robb & Crockett and contributing to our first recording. We couldn't have done it without you.

The duo filled in short-notice for a gig Cross-eyed Rosie could no longer play (hope you feel better, Alli!), giving them a chance to stretch out and have some fun, much to the delitght of the small crowd. Listeners there have definitely been touched by great music in the past, and to be well received was rewarding. It was an intimate show, the few people there probably could have squeezed into the bakery next door!

Tonight Lincoln sat in with banjo/slide player Tony Furtado & guitarist/mandolinist Scott Law for the second set of their January series at the Laurelthirst Pub in Portland. For those who don't know them, Tony and Scott are some of the largest names in instrumental acoustic music on the West Coast, and as it turns out both are talented songwriters and a couple of the nicest guys you'll meet. As a duo they call themselves the Banjo Killers and are playing the 'Thirst every wednesday in January.

The trio started by ripping through an amped-up version of 'Ain't Nobody Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone' followed by the instrumental 'Cherokee Shuffle'. Once it was clear that the newcomer (that's Lincoln!) could hang Tony and Scott kept him up there for the remainder of the evening! Folks were pressed up against the stage dancing, and well, it was nothing short of magical!

It's official. After a constant stream of requests from friends and fans Lincoln is pulling together his very first band and beginning a monthly performance slot. Beginning FEBRUARY 1, 2008 you can find them the FIRST FRIDAY of every month at BIDDY McGRAW'S in Portland.

The band rehearsing right now includes Jim McKeon on guitar, Andy Love on Drums and Tyler Smith on bass. Jim has blown Lincoln's mind at the New Year's Eve set they did together at imbibe and the Haiti Benefit last Friday. Andy Love was the surprise guest at Cross-eyed Rosie's annual Christmas Party in December, sitting in on the skins and adding a whole new pocket to Rosie's brand of folky grooves. Tyler Smith and Andy Love have been a rhythm section together for years. Lincoln first caught them together in guitarist Jon Ostrom's short-lived but incredibly powerful band Badger, where they layed it down with such force that Lincoln has been joking he's going to pee himself in shock.

Thanks to everyone who made Friday's and Saturday's shows such a success. On Firday we raised almost $1000 for Healing Hands for Haiti, a fantastic figure for a venue as cozy as Mississippi Pizza. I am particularly grateful to the musicians who made Friday such a treat for me as a performer: Josh Cole, Andy Lohr and "Dr. Kate" Saylor for joining me for bluegrass-by-the-seat-of-our-pants, and the incomperable Jim McKeon for helping me take the closing set to new heights.

thanks to everyone who came and made last night's show at 9-muses so special! that's the friends, the dancers, the amazing musicians and 9-musus Acoustic tavern itself. That place is becoming a great place to catch really vibrant performances. there was some great energy there last night!

Last night was the official innaugural gig for the Outdoorsmen, a loose cadre of uniquely Pacific Northwestern songwriters and musicians. Characterized by honesty, generocity, camraderie and a love for our home in the PacificNorthwet, this may even be a whole genre of music.

at the 9 - muses the Outdoorsmen were: Alexa Wiley (the outdoorswoman!), Hunter Paye, Brad Creel, Dave Clarke, Lincoln Crockett & all the guys in Jim the Bad goat!

Future shows should be more of the same: great singing, great playing, dancing, and most of the musicians sitting in on one another's sets. Plus how can you beat the sing-along at the end!!

Thanks to everyone who came and made the special double-bill such a success! The Laurelthirst said it was the biggest night they'd had in four years, and almost triple the attendance the last time Rosie played there in 2005.
Not that you'd need them to tell you: folks were to the stage for Lincoln's opening set, and it stayed that way late into the night. The crowd got really worked up and dancing during the second set, and by the encore the entire audience literally linked arms and swayed as a single unit to Lincoln, Alli and Ellie singing 'The John Day Waltz', from Rosie's latest album, ADJUSTED.
Special thanks to Brent, a long-time Rosie supporter and friend, who volunteered to change Lincoln's guitar string when it snapped during a particularly ferocious groove on the as-yet-unrecorded original 'Glory Hallelujah'.
Cross-eyed Rosie's next show is December 15th at the Goodfoot in Portland. Check the gig calendar to see when Lincoln is out next! See you soon.

Robb & Crockett's opening set for Greensky Bluegrass a the Goodfoot was a shockingly fun set. Used to almost no practice, Jimmy and Lincoln had a contageously good time and had people bopping, laughing and cheering the whole set. No one was more surprised than R&C! This was also a bit of a homecoming - Jimmy just returned to Portland that day after 2 years in tiny (and heavenly) Trout Lake, WA. Look for a lot more from Robb & Crockett in the near future...

Lincoln has also uploaded two tracks from the new album, 'When Will

Friday's show at Mississippi Pizza had a great turnout and together we really generated some energy. I enjoyed seeing some new friends and fans made. That at least judging from their wide eyes and how they kept bopping in their seats. That's always fun. Secretly, I keep the beat by watching all of your feet tap. This was the first time I'd seen opener Adam Hill's complete set, even after having him sit in with me at the cd release last month.
